Lumanair - Rental Requirements

Cessna 172R

Private Pilot certificate and a check-out by a Lumanair flight instructor. Checkout is valid for 90 days from date of flight. Student pilots must operate under direct supervision of a Lumanair flight instructor and have instructor approve each flight by the student prior to take-off.

Cessna 182RG

Private Pilot certificate at minimum, with at least 125 hours total time, including 25 hours in a retractable gear aircraft, and a check-out by a Lumanair flight instructor. Checkout is valid 90 days from date of flight.

If under 25 hours retractable gear, pilot must receive 5 hours of dual instruction with Lumanair flight instructor in the same make and model of aircraft to be flown.

Piper Seminole

(Multi-Engine Land class certificate received at Lumanair)

Private Pilot certificate at minimum, with multi-engine and instrument ratings, with at least a minimum of 300 hours total time and 10 hours dual instruction in Seminole with a Lumanair Flight Instructor, and a check-out by a Lumanair flight instructor. Checkout is valid for 90 days from date of flight.

(Multi-Engine Land class certificate not received at Lumanair.)

Private Pilot certificate at minimum, with multi-engine and instrument ratings, with at least a minimum of 500 hours total time, 50 hours in a multi-engine aircraft, and 5 hours in same make and model. In lieu of 50 hours multi, pilot must receive 10 hours of dual instruction in Seminole with Lumanair flight instructor. A checkout by a Lumanair instructor is also required. Checkout is valid for 90 days from date of flight.

All rental pilots for all aircraft must have: valid pilot certificate, valid medical certificate, current bi-annual flight review, logbook inspection by Lumanair instructor, and current aircraft checkout & currency record.

Other Requirements

Renter pilots who rent Lumanair aircraft must be checked out for night flight in each make and model of aircraft. If a rental pilot on taking a Lumanair aircraft overnight, they are not allowed to rent a Cessna 172 unless authorization has been given by management. Also, a 3 hour daily minimum, in Hobbs time, is required for weekday overnight use, and 4 hours for weekends. Fuel purchased by customer at other FBO's will only be reimbursed up to the current Lumanair AvGas price with taxes.
