Professional Staff We have several full-time and part-time FAA certified flight instructors who are commited to helping you acheive your aviation goals. All of our instructors meet strict requirements and utilize a standardized training program that allow our student pilots to learn the most in the most efficient amount of flight time. Our instructors are available seven days a week and we tailor your training to your schedule, day or night! Well-Maintained Fleet We train our students using a well-maintaned fleet of both Cessna and Piper-manufactured aircraft, both single and multi-engine. We also use simulator-based training to train all year round, regardless of the weather or time of day! All of our aircraft are serviced by Lumanair's Part 145 repair station. Our aircraft undergo rigorous inspections required by the FAA for commercial operations. Proven Training Program We offer FAA Part 61 flight training and utilize the Jeppesen training program, developed exclusively for flight schools, colleges, and universities and which has been proven highly effective in pilot training. You can also work toward an associate's degree at nearby Waubonsee Community College through flight training. Competitive Rates & Financing Options Our aircraft rental and instructor rates are the among the most reasonable in the Chicagoland area, and include fuel and maintenance costs (no fuel surcharges!). We offer "block" discounts that can help you save long-term on the cost of renting our aircraft, up to 5% off, as well as competitive financing for training directly to our students through Pilot Finance. Convenient Location & Airport Facilities We have our very own CATS computerized testing facility onsite for pilot written exams, which can be scheduled at your convenience 7 days a week for every rating from Private Pilot all the way to ATP. We also carry a wide variety of pilot supplies, headsets, charts, and materials for training, including our exclusive Jeppesen Private Pilot training kit.
We are located at Aurora Municipal Airport, which is located within minutes of the Chicago metro area. The airport remains outside of the busy Chicago O'Hare airspace, which gives our students a level of complexity as well as uninterrupted flight training. ARR has three hard-surface runways and numerous instrument approaches to choose from, and features a training-friendly tower that enjoy working with flight students. Lumanair offers Intro Rides as an economical and fun way to discover the world of aviation. You'll get to meet with a Certified Flight instructor and go for a short flight to see what flying is all about. He or she will answer any questions you may have on learning to fly and you can determine if aviation is right for you. If you're already flown before or are interested in learning how to fly, you can schedule a time to tour our facilities with an instructor and see our fleet of aircraft firsthand. We also offer add-on training, WINGS program training and Biennual Flight Reviews, ground training, aircraft rentals, currency checkouts, sightseeing flights, and more.
